Hi, I’m Gary, a wedding photographer based in Darlington, photographing weddings across the North East, North Yorkshire and the Lake District.

Beautiful photographs matter, but so does enjoying the day while they’re being taken. I want you to feel comfortable, spend time with your favourite people and trust that the moments that matter are being captured.

A little about me

I’m a proud husband, dad to two grown-up sons and owner of our Shih Tzu, Whiskey.

Photography has long been part of our family life, from everyday memories to my sons’ rugby and hockey matches. Photographing sport taught me to anticipate what happens next and notice moments that pass in an instant. At weddings, that might be a proud glance, an unexpected laugh or a hug you didn’t realise anyone had seen.

Being a husband and father also shapes what I look for. Alongside the two of you, I’m watching for the people and relationships that make your wedding personal.

What it’s like to have me there

Much of the day, I’ll photograph quietly as things unfold. When it’s time for family photographs, I’ll help organise everyone so you can get back to celebrating.

For your couple portraits, I’ll offer gentle guidance with where to stand, how to move and where the light looks best. You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose.

My approach brings together relaxed documentary storytelling and elegant editorial portraits: genuine moments alongside thoughtfully composed photographs of the two of you.
