Getting married at Gisborough Hall? I’m Gary, a wedding photographer based in Darlington, photographing weddings across North Yorkshire and the North East.
I’ve photographed at Gisborough Hall, and the images here show how its country-house setting can become part of your wedding story. From relaxed moments with your guests to elegant portraits in front of the Hall, my aim is to capture both the atmosphere of the venue and the people who make your day yours.
Gisborough Hall sits in Guisborough, on the edge of the North York Moors. Its historic architecture, gardens and countryside setting offer plenty of variety for wedding photographs.
The front of the Hall makes a particularly striking backdrop. In the photographs below, you’ll see how I’ve used the building and stone steps for bridal portraits and couple photographs, balancing the character of the venue with a clear focus on the people.
Your photographs don’t all need to include the whole building. Closer portraits, movement in a veil and quiet moments together can give your collection variety while keeping a sense of place.
For much of your wedding, I’ll photograph events as they unfold: the anticipation before the ceremony, reactions during the vows, conversations over drinks and laughter with family and friends.
When we step away for couple portraits, I’ll offer gentle direction so you feel comfortable. We’ll plan these around your timings and the available light, giving you photographs together while leaving plenty of time to enjoy your celebration.
Family groups and the details you’ve chosen are part of the story too.
Before your wedding, we’ll talk through your ceremony time, preparations, important family photographs and anything you particularly want captured.
At Gisborough Hall, we can consider photographs outside with the house as a backdrop, as well as suitable indoor spaces. The final choices will depend on the weather, light and which areas are available on your day.
If conditions allow, we can also take a few evening portraits. These can bring a different mood to your collection, especially as the light changes.
