Planning your wedding at Lartington Hall? I’m Gary, a wedding photographer based in Darlington, covering County Durham and the North East.
My approach combines natural photographs of your celebration with elegant couple portraits. I’ll capture the laughter, reactions and quiet moments as they happen, with gentle guidance when you need it.
Lartington Hall, near Barnard Castle, offers a country-house setting with a chapel, grand interiors and gardens. These give us different possibilities for photographs, from portraits that include the character of the Hall to closer images that focus on you.
Before your wedding, we’ll discuss your timings and the photographs that matter most. We’ll plan around the spaces available, the weather and the light on your day.
You don’t need to know how to pose. During couple portraits, I’ll give you simple guidance and keep things relaxed, leaving plenty of time to celebrate with your guests.
Throughout the rest of your day, I’ll work quietly to capture what unfolds: the anticipation before the ceremony, reactions during the speeches and conversations you might otherwise miss.

For darker spaces and photographs after sunset, I use off-camera flash to create portraits with a different atmosphere. If you’d like evening photographs, we can build a little time into your plans without interrupting the celebrations.
